Her faith was the foundation of her life, and her love for Jesus Christ guided everything she did.

Gloria married the love of her life, Moises Diaz, on December 30, 1955. He preceded her in death on October 13, 2013.

Together they shared many years of marriage and family life. In 2008, Gloria and Moises moved to Plano, to be closer to their daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, a move that brought them great comfort and joy.

Gloria was known for her servant’s heart. She was extremely selfless, always putting others before herself, and found purpose in helping those around her. A natural caregiver, she gave endlessly of her time and energy, leaving a lasting impact on everyone she met.

She found joy in tending to her garden and cooking for her family, expressing her love through the care she gave in everyday moments.

She is survived by her daughters; Emma Munoz, husband Armando, and Sylvia Diaz; her grandchildren, Samantha Martinez and husband Robert, Jacob Munoz and fiancée Veronica Munoz, and Celina Garcia; her great-grandchildren, Elena Martinez, Alex Martinez, and Isabel Martinez; and her sisters, Dolores Gonzales and Grace Martinez.

Gloria was preceded in death by her her parents, Wesley and Benita Herrera; and her siblings, Ramiro Herrera, Ruben Herrera, Lilia Elizondo, and Elida Martinez. The family extends their deepest gratitude to the caregivers at Collinwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, where Gloria spent her final ten years receiving compassionate care.

Her legacy will continue to live on in every story told and every tradition kept. Gloria will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who knew and loved her.
