SAMFA’s stunning exhibit, FROM THE REALMS OF GLORY is one you will not want to miss. But there are only a couple of weeks left as the exhibit will end January 19, 2025.The San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts holds a mesmerizing collection of sacred art from the Spanish Colonial period in the New World, and 19th century Latin America. Created between 1600 and 1900, these works, in the words of the Catholic Catechism, were intended to “draw man to adoration, to prayer, and to the love of God.”

It is a celebration of the rich artistic and religious traditions of Catholic Latin America. The exhibit includes works by Antonio de Torres (1666-1731), one of the most prolific painters of early eighteenth century Mexico. The exhibit is supported by Stephanie and Charlotte March in loving memory of their mother Laura Derby.

The exhibit is free and open to the public. The San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts is located at One Love Street in San Angelo Texas. It is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Sunday’s from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
