The popular Fort Concho Speaker Series will return this year, slated for noon to 1 p.m. on Wednesdays this April, according to a news bulletin from the City of San Angelo on Wednesday.
This year’s lineup of topics and speakers includes:
- April 2: “R.F. Ford, Spurs of Knickerbocker,” presented by local historian and spur maker Hugh Edmonson
- April 9: “Pistol Packing Preachers of West Texas,” presented by Rev. Christopher Roque, vicar of the Episcopal Church of Fort McKavett & Menard
- April 16: “Ambrose Bierce, Nobody Will Never Find My Bones,” presented by Carl Brockman
- April 23: “Businesses of San Angelo,” presented by Lisa Mahler
- April 30: “The Battle of McClellan,” presented by Charles Anderson
Admission is free and open to the public.
Presentations will take place in the Commissary, 702 Burgess St. and attendees are welcome to bring a lunch.
Guests are always asked to submit topics for future talks.
For the spring and fall series in 2026, the topics will reflect the nation’s 250th birthday.
