Seeking AG Opinion
TEA has requested authorization from the Attorney General’s Office to not disclose all other information requested under the Texas Public Information Act.
The Concho Observer requested similar information from Midland ISD, who did not confirm or deny the existence of any complaints, but also asked the Attorney General’s office to allow them to not disclose the requested information.
San Angelo ISD previously reported it had received no complaints about any of its teachers related to the death of Charlie Kirk, but complaints could have been filed without San Angelo administrators knowledge.
Charlie Kirk, a right-wing political activist, was shot on Sept. 10, during an event at Utah State University. His death sparked near universal condemnation from political leaders across the country.
TEA Commissioner Mike Morath has since vowed that TEA will take action against any Texas teacher that celebrated Kirk’s death online.
