First Methodist Church Pastor Scott Bradford announced his upcoming retirement in a letter to his flock on Wednesday, with Father’s Day being his last scheduled service on June 21.
Bradford has been at First Methodist for almost nine years.

Bradford told parishioners he had intended on staying through February of 2027, but recent health challenges convinced him to retire sooner.
“It has been a blessing to serve as senior pastor… In conversation with God about my health and personal wellness I feel led to conclude my fulltime ministry after thrity-three years of service and following ten years in the U.S. Army.”
Bradford recounted some of the highpoints from his ministry here including church improvements, civic projects, and the many marriages and baptisms he has been honored to officiate.
