The deliciously cool weather of the past few months has turned into delicious produce of every kind, and the local folks who grow it will be at the Farmers Market Saturday morning.
Although it’s been going for few weeks already, the San Angelo Farmers Market holds the grand opening of the season in June — when things really get to producing, and with the addition of home-baked goods, houseplants and more, it’s pretty difficult to leave empty handed.
You’ll see some of the area’s youngest businesspeople, cheerfully waiting on customers and making change. Helping people make their selections, and bagging groceries, and they must be pretty dedicated for kids, because you have to get up very early to do this kind of work.
The Farmers Market opens 7 a.m. on Saturdays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, at 609 S. Oakes St., across the road from Fort Concho National Historic Landmark, and is open until noon or whenever they sell-out.
