OBITUARY

David Cotham Stamps, a beloved and gentle soul, passed away on December 20, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on August 31, 1942, in Newport, Arkansas, he was a resident of Carlsbad, Texas.

David served in the Air Force, embarking on a distinguished career that spanned 24.5 years. His military service took him and his wife, Donna Stamps, around the world, most notably to Norway. David and Donna were married in 1975 and shared a life filled with travel and adventure, residing in Texas, England, Germany, and Cyprus.

After retiring from the Air Force, David pursued his passion for driving, becoming an over-the-road truck driver. He cherished the opportunity to explore the United States and Canada, meeting people from all walks of life. David’s love for trucks and living in the countryside was a defining aspect of his character, and he was fondly remembered as a “tall drink of water” by those who knew him.

David was a family man, having had a son, Theron, with his second wife. He will be missed and loved by many. His legacy lives on in the memories of those who knew him, and every time a “big” truck goes by, David Stamps’ memory is renewed.
