OBITUARY

Daniel Lee Anderson joined his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in the early morning hours of November 22, 2025.

He was born in San Angelo, Texas, on September 17, 1949, to Wilbur Lee and Mary Ann Anderson. Daniel graduated from Central High School and then earned a degree in criminal justice from Southwest Texas State University.

Upon graduation, Daniel began his career in law enforcement with the Ballinger Police Department. While at the department, Daniel met the love of his life Deborah Gayle Smith. They were married on August 10, 1974.

After their marriage, Daniel worked as a deputy with the Tom Green Sheriff’s Department where he worked as a night shift supervisor. During his law enforcement career, Daniel attended the FBI Academy. After Daniel left law enforcement, he worked at Western Towers (his family’s business). He was responsible with overseeing and expanding Western’s fabrication plant.

In addition to serving in various ministries within the Chadbourne North Church of Christ, Daniel was active in many facets of service within his community. He served as a scout master for over twenty years; he served on San Angelo’s planning board (COSADC); he developed a ministry for those living in homeless camps within San Angelo; he worked as a member of the Lions Club; he was a member of Gideons International.

Daniel absolutely loved his family: he adored his wife, his two children, and his three grandchildren. He loved spending time and traveling with his family.

Daniel loved to tell others about Jesus; he was always prepared to share the Good News of God’s plan of salvation with anyone he met. He wanted everyone he met to know his Lord.

Daniel is preceded in death by his parents W.L. and Mary Anderson, and by his precious wife Debbie.

He is survived by his daughter Amiee and husband Frank Galindo of San Angelo, by his son Jacob and wife Lindsey Anderson of San Angelo, by his grandson Brayden Anderson of San Angelo, by his two granddaughters Adina Galindo of San Angelo and Payton Anderson of San Angelo, by his brother Charles Anderson of San Angelo, and by his sister May Sandison of Yantis. Daniel is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends who were like family to him.

A celebration of Daniel’s life will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Johnson’s Funeral Home. A reception will be held immediately following the service.

Donations to honor Daniel’s life can be made to the Cherokee Children’s Home at 13355 TX-16 Cherokee, Texas 76832; to the Gideons International; or to a favorite charity.
