Save the date! The Museum of Fine Arts will host a Free Family Day on September 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the Education Studio breezeway at 1 Love Street.
STEAM at SAMFA: A Family Day Adventure presents Zoology September featuring educational art and science experiences for all ages. Bring your family and friends for activities include examining blood flow in a minnow’s tail under a microscope, building models of mammal skeletons from craft sticks, and examining livestock skulls and bones.
The Passport to Hats of the World activity that ties into SAMFA’s current exhibition, The Global Language of Headwear: Cultural Identity, Rites of Passage, and Spirituality. Families can also plant seeds in biodegradable pots and enjoy a bouncy house in the breezeway.
A free children’s book giveaway will be presented outside of the Scripps-Howard Library & Bob and Doris Johnston Foundation Reading Room on the 2nd Floor with books generously provided by the San Angelo Adult Literacy Council and anonymous donors.
Stop by Studio Rio located at 423 S. Oakes from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for a chance to interact with live animals brought to you by Mad Mouse Zoodio.
Family Day includes free admission to the galleries. Light refreshments will be available while supplies last.
