The much-debated topic of a proposed Data Center for northeast San Angelo will be up for discussion during a rare evening City Council meeting next week. The meeting will be open to the public and is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17 at the McNease Convention Center.
Interest will focus on Item 6g on the regular agenda, regarding proposed design guidelines for the project, and there will be a presentation by City Planning and Development Director Aaron Vannoy, Chief Project Officer Rick Weise and Westwood Consultant Aric Head.
According to city staff, guidelines will be reviewed in detail, concerning the location, orientation, and setbacks of buildings; travel routes for pedestrians and vehicles; fencing; and screening for truck and trash areas.
Landscape and grading plans, noise limitations and sound studies, building elevations and material specifications, as well as the locations of signage and light fixtures, also will be discussed.
The agenda specifies this item is up for discussion only, and no action will be taken.
In addition to the meeting being open to the public, it will also be streamed live to the City’s YouTube channel, SATV (Optimum channel 17), FireTV and Roku.
Members of the public can provide comments in person at the meeting; however, those who wish to speak must sign up ahead of the meeting.
