A Nov. 24 update of “Voters Guide 2026: Texas Gears Up For Historic Midterms” contained incorrect information about Rep. Drew Darby’s voting record.
Rep. Darby has supported legislation for charter schools, but opposed the school voucher plan supported by Gov. Greg Abbott up through the 88th Legislature.
After defending his seat against a primary challenger funded chiefly by the governor and his supporters, Darby continued to oppose vouchers during the 89th Legislature, until he and other stalwart holdouts agreed to support Abbott’s plan, in exchange for compromise language that garnered more funding for public schools. The bill was promptly signed into law.
