In this article: “San Angelo Zeroes in on Future Water Sources,” we initially published that water from the West Texas Partnership between Abilene, Midland, and San Angelo came from an agreement with the City of Fort Stockton, which in turn came from wells fed by the Pecos Valley Aquifer. This was incorrect.
According to Ty Edwards, with the Middle Pecos Groundwater Conservation District, water from this agreement actually originates from a trend of the Edwards-Trinity Aquifer, and therefore would not draw on the Pecos Valley Aquifer.
