The City of San Angelo honored employees celebrating significant service anniversaries during ceremonies on May 23.
Seven employees, including an assistant city manager, received 30-year awards; Thirteen received 25-year awards; Sixteen received 20-year awards; Twenty-two received 15-year awards; Seventeen received 10-year awards and 51 employees received their first service awards, marking five years of employment.
San Angelo City Council members were honored for their service as well, which combined to represent 46 years of knowledge and experience in city leadership.
“A huge congratulations to all City of San Angelo employees who recently achieved a milestone …Thank you to every one of our employees for your loyalty and heart for serving this community,” city leaders said.

Silver Anniversary and Second Retirement
City of San Angelo Crossing Guard Supervisor Richard Barron was honored for 25 years of service during a retirement party last week.
Barron began with the crossing guard program after his first retirement in 1999, having served 23 years with San Angelo ISD as a beloved instructor at Rio Vista Elementary.
Weise Begins Fourth Decade with City
After graduating from Texas A&M University, Rick Weise came to the City of San Angelo in June of 1994 as the newest member of the Planning Department, but quickly became indispensable, being promoted initially as an assistant to the city manager in 1998, and then to assistant city manager in 2005.
