ANALYSIS AND COMMENTARY

Brendan Carr, chair of the Federal Communications Commission, said yesterday in an interview with CNBC that cancellation of Jimmy Kimmel was justified because the talk-show host misled the American public about facts surrounding the killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

Carr claims Kimmel was not canceled for telling a joke at Trump’s expense.

Kimmel was quoted stating “the MAGA gang is desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them.”

“It was not making fun,” Carr told CNBC. “It was appearing to directly mislead the American public about a significant fact; the –probably one of the most significant political events we’ve had in a long time — for the most significant political assassination we’ve seen in a long time.”

Bravo Mr. Carr.

If that is the new policy of the FCC, it is long overdue.

If that’s the new FCC standard, it’s great news for America.

As Carr moves forward with his plans to shut down programs, entertainment and networks that mislead the American public about significant facts, Right-Wing news outlets like Fox News, NewsMax, One American News Network and The Blaze, among others, are goners.

Facts are important, and I applaud the Chairman for taking a stand.

Of course, this also means the FCC will not allow the President of the United States, Senators, Congressmen and other public figures to use the radio and tv airwaves to mislead, lie, spread falsehoods and propaganda of any type to the American people.

Imagine, an American media environment where facts matter.

Where saying anything not factually based, will get you barred, suppressed and censored.

This is a great day for America!

Thank you, Mr. Carr, for your courage.

I just wonder how he’s going to break the news to his boss.

Crazy. I wonder if he will hold president trump for all the incorrect things he’s said. Or all the people who stated that the killer was left leaning when there was no proof? I am sure that you will make sure that they retract things like: The 2020 election being stolen, windmills causing cancer, the 2018 packland school shooting being a false flag operation, climate change being a hoax, misleading claims about the covid 19 pandemic.

I am sure you will make sure that these things are cleared up as well. Right? Right????
