OBITUARY

Arabela Maldonado Medellin, 83, passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at her home.

Mrs. Medellin was born June 12, 1942 in Muzquiz, Coahuila, Mexico to Salvador and Eduarda Maldonado. Arabela married Heriberto Medellin on April 15, 1958 in Muzquiz. He preceded her in death on April 9, 2019.

Arabela has been a resident of San Angelo since 1960. She was a supervisor with Levi Strauss for 26 years before retiring in 1997. Arabela was a devoted member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, where she was a Lecturer, Eucharistic Minister, and Morning Glory.

She liked playing Loteria (bingo), shopping, crocheting, water aerobics, and going to the casino. Arabela’s love language was cooking, she enjoyed feeding her family, friends and anyone who had an appetite.

Survivors include her two sons, Herberto Medellin, Jr. and wife Barbara, and Enrique Medellin; a daughter, Laura Wilcox and husband Lamar; a brother, Salvador Maldonado and wife Juanita; a sister, Maria Carmen Gutierrez and husband Manuel; four grandchildren, Trina Delgado and husband Martin, Miles McMillan, John McMillan, and Sara McMillan; and two great grandchildren, Ellarose Delgado, and Luca Delgado. Arabela was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Mario Medellin, a daughter, Sandra Medellin, and her siblings, Antonio, Maldonado, Oscar Maldonado, Lupe Ramirez, and Christina Jordan.

Public viewing will start at 4 p.m. with the Rosary being prayed at 6 p.m., Sunday, December 21, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 22, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Ft. Joey Faylona, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.
