OBITUARY

Ann Privitt entered the gates of Heaven on December 20 at 5:47 a.m. She was born in San Angelo May 4, 1943, and lived a life marked by faith, perseverance, service, and deep love for her family.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, JW Privitt; her father, LV James; her mother, Maggie; her stepfather, Albert Davis; her brothers, William Lee and Benjamin DeVan James; and her precious great-grandson, Tate William Foster.

Ann is lovingly remembered by her children:

Allyn and Lori Hepner, Sheri and Lloyd Woodfin, Dori and Steve Foster, and Ralyn and Elizabeth Hepner; her twelve grandchildren: Stephanie and Daniel Morris, Allyson and Kevin Eastman, Whitney and Zachary Pyle, Davis Woodfin, Kacilyn and Collin Helton, Kortney and Andrew Boyd, Colt and Shalyse Foster, Kelsey and Travis Kemp, Dillyn Hepner, Elijah Woodfin, Cobi Woodfin, and Sabrina Hepner and her sixteen great-grandchildren: Brenyn, Carsyn, Kase, Kelbi, Oakley, Huxley, Naraa, Connley, Hadleigh, Brock, Clayton, Gatlin, Devin, Bowen, Renlee, and Wade.

Ann was saved at a young age and walked faithfully with the Lord throughout her life. She began serving Him when she was a teen singing and serving as a church pianist and continued playing for the residents when she entered the Robert Lee nursing center. Her passion for teaching was evident throughout her life, teaching numerous piano students, teaching Sunday school, life groups and ladies’ Bible studies, always being creative and committed to being involved.

Ann earned her bachelor’s degree in just three years, completing a double major in Elementary Education and Spanish, while raising four children on her own. She began her teaching career in 1973.

After marrying J.W., they helped start a Christian school in San Angelo, now known as Cornerstone Christian School. Ann taught multiple subjects over the years; however, Spanish remained her favorite. Even in the nursing home, she continued “teaching” Spanish to her caregivers.

Ann was known for her great sense of humor, quick-witted comebacks, and unwavering dedication to God and her family. She loved researching history, genealogy, sewing, bicycling, road trips, and all things Texas—bluebonnets, visiting courthouses, and collecting photos and information on historical markers.

She was a hard-working, dedicated, and determined woman, affectionately referred to as “a cat with nine lives.” Ann survived a massive brain stem stroke at age 49, battled breast cancer twice, and in her final days amazed her care team with her strength and fortitude.

Her seasons of life leave behind a legacy of faith, resilience, and love that will continue to live on through her family and friends who loved her and were touched by her life and testimony.

A visitation will be held at Johnson’s Funeral Home, located at 435 West Beauregard, San Angelo, TX 76903, on December 22, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

The funeral service will take place at the same venue on December 23, 2025, at10:00 am

The committal service will be conducted at Johnson’s Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens, situated at 4989 FM Highway 1223, San Angelo, TX 76905, on December 23, 2025.
