Gov. Greg Abbott announced a new 10-year transportation plan with a total projected investment of more than $146 billion that TXDOT will invest in local roads and major congestion-relief projects.

The plan outlays $429,491,242 for the San Angelo District, with resurfacing and widening as chief concerns.

In Tom Green County, there will be resurfacing on Loop 306, Ranch-to-Market 853, and State Highway 208, in addition to construction of a railroad bridge crossing at US Highway 277, near Old Balinger Highway, and the addition of a “North Relief Route” from US Highway 67 to US 87 north of San Angelo.

Freeway improvements from north of Farm-to-Market 2105 to US 67 are scheduled for 2026-2029, with other improvements for 2030 to 2035.
