A small crowd of San Angelo residents delivered their feedback to Congressman August Pfluger’s office personally today. The “walkout” was promoted by local civic group West Texas Indivisible, which began the protest with a reading of the Bill of Rights, followed by a walk that ended at the steps of the Rep’s office on Twohig Avenue.
Whether staff did not answer the door, or already had left for the day was unknown, but the protesters decided to take turns taping their letters to the front glass.
In short, the letter they signed called for the congressman to vote against any appropriation bills for the Department of Homeland Security or Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and to pursue the total release of the Epstein files from the Department of Justice, among others.

Many protesters said they were disturbed by the killing of Renee Good by an ICE Officer earlier this month in Minneapolis, along with a number of similar incidents that followed.
One protestor stated “I don’t know why they want to hurt people…”
At the insistence of organizers, the protest was totally silent with no chanting, and another dozen-or-so onlookers came to follow along for the walk to the office.
UPDATE: 21 Jan. 2026 at 12:27 p.m.
After publish, the Concho Observer received the following statement from a spokesperson for Congressman Pfluger:
“Every week our office receives hundreds of correspondences from constituents, and we look forward to carefully reviewing their thoughts on issues of the day and getting back to them.
“I also wanted to provide some background for the sentence, “Whether staff did not answer the door, or had already left for the day was unknown…”
“Our San Angelo Regional Directors were out in the field during the time of the visit. Our regional directors are often out in the community serving the people on behalf of the Congressman when his duties as an elected official require him to be in DC. Our regional directors are regularly available and extremely responsive. They will handle each letter from yesterday as they do every single voice mail or letter written in when they are at a prior commitment and carefully review and respond.”
