Tom Thompson, Council Member for SMD 2 has filed for Mayor. A native of Big Spring, Mr. Thompson graduated from Forsan High School in 1985. He earned his BBA from Angelo State University in 1989. He also worked as the Marketing Director for the San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo Association from 2011 to 2020. Mr. Thompson works as Account Sales Manager for Bimedia US Livestock. He is not running for reelection for SMD 2 because of the terms limits provided in the City Charter. He has served on the San Angelo City Council since 2017.
