The agenda for the City Council meeting Tuesday February 18, 2025 is long on consent items, with only five regular agenda items. Council meets at the McNease Convention Center South Meeting Room 501 Rio Concho Drive San Angelo, Texas at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Perhaps the item of the most interest is one that the public is not likely to hear much about. The agenda calls for the City Council to go into executives session to discuss litigation related to Joshua Loudermilk. SAPD Police Chief Travis Griffith placed Loudermilk on indefinite suspension related to guns allegedly stolen from the SAPD. You can read more about that case here. Likely the discussion will involve Loudermilk’s civil service appeal of his suspension, but it could involve other legal matters with which the City Council needs to consult with legal counsel.

Other items in the executive session will be discussions related to two parcels of real estate. The first is approximately 352 total acres. The second is a 316 acre tract. The agenda does not say whether this is related to sale or purchase of property or the use for the properties.

The regular agenda items include:

  • Designating a venue project for the McNease Convention Center.
  • Approve contract for purchase and installation of 14 HVAC units for McNease Convention Center.
  • Discuss river wayfinding signage.
  • First reading and hearing of annexation ordinance for adding approximately 1205 acres on U.S. Hwy 67 east of U.S. Hwy 277 interchange and Harriet Road.
  • First reading and public hearing on zone change from General/Heavy Commercial to General Commercial at 2401 N. Chadbourne.
