A new short film set in rural West Texas: ‘Afterwork‘ seeks paid extras who can dance in two-step, cumbria, and Tejano styles. The advertisement says filming will take place in early December, and that it will likely be one full day of shooting.
Previous posts and casting calls show that in June the film was looking for “Real West Texans; Cowboys, and Vaqueros, Men from 40-70” with no acting experience required. Filming locations were listed at Ft. McKavett.
According to casting calls on backstage.com:
“Afterwork,” a 15-minute drama set in rural West Texas, directed and crewed by NYU Tisch graduate film students.
“After learning of his impending death, a lonesome livestock veterinarian in rural West Texas picks up a stranger on the side of the road. He finds his desire to live reawakened after the stranger takes him to meet a woman in a town on the Mexican border.
“The production is looking for unique, non-idealized faces that reflect the stark beauty and natural diversity of the Western landscape. Familiarity with the region, ranching, and agriculture is a plus. Non-professional actors or real people are encouraged to apply.
“Production states: ‘The film will be Executive Produced by legendary director Spike Lee.’
