The holidays are finally here! Keep your kiddos entertained and find some great gifts this season with all of the events slated for San Angelo.

CORRECTION: An earlier version of this article contained an incorrect date for the Railway Museum’s Santa Fe Christmas. The story has been updated to reflect the correct date.

We’re still adding to this list! Please send your event to news@conchoobserver.com if you wish to promote it. Happy Holidays!

November 22: Goodfellow Christmas Market

Over 70 vendors are set for the 42rd Annual Goodfellow AFB Santa’s Market. Bring home something for everyone, or get some photos with Santa Claus after a tour of the base.

December 5 – 7: Christmas At Old Fort Concho

It’s almost time for Christmas fun at the Fort!

Kick off the holiday season by visiting Fort Concho’s largest annual event. Held during the first full weekend in December, Christmas at Old Fort Concho transforms the fort’s 40 acres and 28 buildings into a winter wonderland.

Each day at Fort Concho, visitors can experience the Winter Rendezvous, campsites with hundreds of reenactors and period traders who bring the 1800s to life. During daylight hours, the many troops on the Parade Ground will drill, ride and shoot their weapons. The artillery demonstrations (blanks, of course) will definitely catch your attention!

Inside the fort’s many original buildings, merchants and artisans from across Texas and the Southwest feature many items to start your Christmas shopping. A food court will offer various food options, strolling musicians and staged musical activity will keep the grounds lively, and the children’s areas will provide many crafts and activities free for all youngsters.

December 6 – 31: Concho Christmas Tour of Lights

An all time fan favorite: San Angelo’s famous tour of lights will open on Friday, Dec. 5, and will run nightly through Dec. 31. 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays, and 6 p.m. to midnight on weekends. Vehicles enter at Bryant Boulevard and West 1st Street. Suggested donation of $8 per vehicle.

From the board: “The Tour of Lights is comprised of animated scenes depicting The Twelve Days of Christmas, a Toy Factory, A Gingerbread House, and elaborate nativity scene, reindeer, a National Patriotism Flag, Santa Claus and much, much more!

“The beautiful poinsettia field light display, located at the San Angelo Convention & Visitors Bureau building, continues to be a visitor favorite. The poinsettias are displayed on the hillside which gives them a life-like appearance. With the sponsorship of RELIANT ENERGY and in-kind sponsorship of Westlake Hardware, the Tour of Lights has completed the LED light phase-in program.”

December 6: Community Tree Lighting and Christmas Parade

The 2025 Community Tree Lighting Ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, December 6th, beginning at 5:15 p.m. in the parking lot at the corner of Concho Avenue and Chadbourne Street. The parade will begin at 6 p.m.

Over 80 floats are scheduled for the parade which will wind its way through Downtown San Angelo starting on Chadbourne and Concho.

December 6: Greater San Angelo Crafts Guild Holiday Market

Unique, 100 percent handmade gifts. Support over 60 local artisans right here in the Concho Valley. Perfect timing to start your shopping before the Downtown lights turn on!

On December 6th from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Dec. 7 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m, at the First Financial Pavilion, 4400 Grape Creek Road.

Admission & Parking are ALWAYS FREE!

Shop Local & Unique: Discover one-of-a-kind creations—jewelry, décor, fine art, textiles, and more—you won’t find anywhere else.

Hourly Door Prizes: Stick around! We are giving away great prizes made by our own vendors, every hour you are here.

Give Back & Win More: Bring canned/boxed food for Concho Valley Food Bank or Needed Items for Meals for the Elderly (see post) and instantly receive an EXTRA Door Prize Ticket!

Perfect Weekend Flow: Shop with us Saturday morning before you head downtown for the Lights of Christmas Parade or the Tree Lighting Ceremony!

December 13: Railway Museum’s Santa Fe Christmas

Santa, Mrs. Claus and the Grinch arrive on a great big train at the Railway Museum of San Angelo, 703 S. Chadbourne, San Angelo on Saturday, Dec. 13 at 10 a.m. and they’ll stay until 4 p.m.

It is FREE to meet Santa and his friends at Santa’s Santa Fe Christmas. Use your own camera or phone to take pictures with them. You can even capture a festive pet portrait with Santa from 2-4 p.m., a perfect holiday keepsake.

There are tours of the historic museum, rides in a Choo Choo train, five rooms of scale model trains, live performances by talented guests, delicious eats from a variety of food trucks and unique gifts at the Christmas marketplace filled with local crafts.

There are a few things that require tickets and for the first time, a $10 ticket allows guests to tour the 115-year-old museum with costumed guides, ride a little Choo-Choo train AND explore the historic engine and caboose. Thanks go to sponsors HEB and Texas Pacifico!
