Rust Street Ministries is initiating a new program aimed at helping neighbors with difficulty accessing aid during regular hours, aiming to fill gaps in their community support system.
Starting Aug. 27, working families and individuals who face transportation or scheduling barriers can request a late pick up online through a link on the group’s website.
The link will be active from Aug. 27-31, and Rust Street will initially be able to help a limited number of neighbors.
Pickups can be scheduled from 6-8 p.m. on the first and third Tuesdays of each month, beginning Sept. 2.
Families can use the online tool to pre-order groceries and hygiene products once a month, and the application window will close after 25 pickups have been scheduled. Recipients must qualify for services beforehand.
To confirm eligibility, learn more about the program, or to see how you can volunteer to be a part of this community effort, call Rust Street Ministries during regular business hours.
Rust Street Ministries has been a trusted pillar in the San Angelo community, serving those in need for decades. Some of their services include a food pantry, fresh prepared meals throughout the week, household essentials, clothing, and disaster relief.
Through partnerships with other local nonprofits, Rust Street has made a meaningful difference in the lives of low-income families and people experiencing homelessness.
