OBITUARY

Rudy “Dad” Minor, 89, of San Angelo passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2026.

Viewing will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, February 6, 2026 at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with the rosary at 6 p.m. Mass will be 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Eldorado with Father Felix Archibong, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Eldorado Cemetery under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Mr. Minor was born on November 11, 1936 in Eldorado to Jesus and Dora Cantu Minor. Rudy was a graduate of Eldorado High School. He married Catarina Martinez on July 6, 1958. She passed away on January 21, 2022 after 64 years of marriage. Rudy served two years in the United States Army from 1960-1962. They moved to San Angelo, where Rudy worked at Western Mattress for 19 years. Later, he worked at the San Angelo State School as a Maintenance Supervisor for over 20 years. He loved sports, especially golf and his beloved Houston Astros, keeping and impeccable yard, and spending time with his grandchildren. Rudy was a self described “engineer”; If you walk through his house, you can see many things he fixed in his own way. He was also “the Man” but was very caring and kind to everyone. Rudy enjoyed serving at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

He is survived by three children, Sylvia Koya of Lewisville, Johnny Minor of San Antonio, and Nancy Coronado of San Angelo; a brother, Ramiro Minor of San Angelo; six grandchildren, Jennifer, Adrian, Angelica, Matthew, Tony, and Sara; 11 great-grandchildren, Abagail, Jelena, Jayla, Christian, Solomon, Yohana, Nyahlee, Avery, Amelia, Phoenix, and Eli; and two great-great-grandchildren, Jace Anthony and Myla.

Rudy is preceded in death by his wife, Catarina; a sister, Rebecca Perez; and a brother, Ruben Minor.

Pallbearers will be Tony Koya Adrian Hernandez, Isacc Munoz, David Chavarria, Hector Perez, and Marcus Perez.

In Lieu of flowers please make a donation to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
