“Brew-tal” Fest features three local punk and heavy metal bands; ASU Halloween Orchestra, showtimes and more!

Three punk and metal bands to perform at “Brew-tal” Fest: Punk rock band Includer will open the show, made up of members of several different rock groups in San Angelo. Their sound is described as more typical punk, less screaming. Then, a feature set by death metal band Undone. Heavy metal band Amma will perform their new EP, a few extra songs, to coincide with its release on streaming: Amma Live At The Penny Tap House.

Or, for those looking for a little more atmosphere:

ASU Halloween Orchestra: The Angelo State University Symphony Orchestra will present its annual Halloween concert on Saturday, Oct. 25, in ASU’s Elta Joyce Murphey Auditorium located inside the Mayer Administration Building at 2601 W. Ave. N.

The concert will begin at 7 p.m. and is free and open to the public. Everyone is invited to join the ASU Symphony Orchestra for a festive evening of spooky and spectacular music that will be a fun and family-friendly event for all ages. Audience members are also encouraged to dress up in costume and enjoy trick-or-treating after the concert. With ASU musicians performing in costume, the musical program will feature Halloween favorites and orchestral works that capture the imagination, including:

“In the Hall of the Mountain King” by Edvard Grieg
“Danse Macabre” by Camille Saint-Saens
“Sandpaper Ballet” by Leroy Anderson
Theme from “Jaws” by John Williams
“Hedwig’s Theme” from “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” by John Williams
“March to the Scaffold” from “Symphonie Fantastique” by Hector Berlioz
“Night on Bald Mountain” by Modest Mussorgsky
“Ghostbusters” by Ray Parker Jr.
The ASU Symphony Orchestra includes about 50 student musicians and is directed by Dr. Fagner Magrinelli Rocha, associate professor of music.
