Provisional Voting

Alpha Paving Ad

If you are informed that there is a problem with your voter-registration status preventing you from casting a regular ballot, which you are not able to resolve at the polls, it is your right to ask for a provisional ballot.

  • Provisional ballots exist so that all voters are able to cast a ballot when voter eligibility can not be determined.
  • Provisional ballots are to be offered during early voting periods, and on Election Day at ALL polling places.
  • The rules for accepting voters are spelled out in Title 6: Chapter 63 of the Texas Election Code.
