Bosque Opens Saturday
Kona Ice of San Angelo invites everyone to attend the grand opening of the Bosque on the Concho beginning at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 31, at 330 S. Irving St.
According to the invitation, food trucks will be on hand in addition to paddle boats and kayaks, beach volleyball, a bouncy house and more, along with music by DJ Rob.
The event will offer entertainments for all ages, and giveaways.

Early Voting Continues in Runoff Election
Early voting for the District 2 City Council race will continue through June 3 at Elections Office in the Keyes Building, 113 W. Beauregard Ave.
Saturday hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Residents of District 2 may vote for Dudra Butler or Joe Self, and the official election day is June 7.
Safe Kids Event is June 3
Shannon Health’s Safe Kids San Angelo is hosting a Summer Safety Event on Tuesday, June 3 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Goodfellow Recreation Camp. 1950 S. Concho Drive.
The free event aims to inform and educate parents and caretakers on how to keep kids safe while having fun this summer.
Free life jackets and fittings will be provided by Safe Kids while supplies last.
Car temperature tests with DPS and TxDOT will be offered, as well as hands-only CPR demonstrations by the San Angelo Fire Department.
Other informational demonstrations will cover:
- Hydration
- Boating safety
- Drowning prevention
- Stop The Bleed
- Gun safety
- Outdoor safety
Life jackets are for children weighing up-to 90 pounds, and the child must be present to receive a jacket and be fitted.
City Communications Team Wins Award
The City of San Angelo Communications Department received a Silver Telly Award for their “Lock It, Take It, Hide It” video, produced for the San Angelo Police Department.

Measles Outbreak Continues
The Texas Department of State Health Services is reporting nine additional cases of measles in the West Texas outbreak since May 27, bringing the total number of cases since late January to 738. A total of 94 patients have required hospitalization during their illness.
Based on the most recent data, DSHS has identified designated outbreak counties with ongoing measles transmission: Cochran, Dawson, Gaines, Lamar, Lubbock, Terry and Yoakum.
