Sweet treats fans were delighted to hear Saturday night that local confectioners Cowboy-Up Chocolates purchased Halfmann’s Cake Cottage. The business had been for sale for quite some time, and it’s thought that the owners were waiting for the right buyer to take it over and continue the work.

You can read more about Cowboy-Up, at 6 E. Concho Ave. in San Angelo, who specialize in unique chocolates and treats; like Dubai-style chocolate, which has become a viral hit in recent months, and smoked bacon pecan brittle.

Halfmann’s traditional pie and cake recipes are well known all over town. It seems from the announcement that these will remain, with a focus on better quality and customer service. The fans are excited about it:

From the comments:

My husband’s great grandma was the original Halfmann who created the cake cottage – I’m glad someone who has a love for the community will be bringing it back to life and making sure that the customer experience is amazing!

This is such great news! Y’all are just what is needed to get Halfmann’s back to the level of quality that the original owner spent so many years making it!

Love this mashup! It’s going to be great.

From Cowboy Up’s Facebook announcement:

“We’re thrilled to announce that we have officially purchased Halfmann’s Cake Cottage! ? Since 1982, Halfmann’s has been part of so many birthdays, weddings, and sweet celebrations, and we’re honored to carry on that tradition.

“We’re bringing new energy to this beloved bakery with a focus on exceptional customer service, fresh products, and a welcoming experience every time you visit.

“We know that in recent years, some customers may not have had the experience they deserved. But this is a fresh start — and we invite you to come back and give us another try! We’re committed to rebuilding the bakery’s reputation and creating treats worth celebrating. ??

“We’re also in the middle of a beautiful remodel, so please bear with us through the process. The store will remain open and serving customers while we make these exciting improvements — and we can’t wait for you to see the transformation!

“Plus, we’ll be hiring soon for experienced cake decorators and bakers who share our passion for creativity, quality, and community.

“Thank you, San Angelo, for supporting local and believing in sweet new beginnings. The best is yet to come — and we can’t wait to bake it happen! ??”
