Organizers with West Texas Indivisible’s San Angelo chapter will stage a protest from 4 – 6 p.m. in Spanish Park, 704 S. David St., to highlight International Workers Day on May 1. Supporters are urged to make signs that will be visible to the late-afternoon stream of traffic by the park.
The group says the event will be a peaceful non-partisan protest, and all are welcome.
The San Angelo Equity Alliance is hosting a protest sign-making party in conjunction with the protest at 5 p.m. Tuesday in the STEAM Room at the Stephens Central Library, 33 W. Beauregard Ave.
According to information from the local chapter of Indivisible, the group is a non-partisan organization committed to fostering civic engagement, protecting democracy, ad ensuring the voices of everyday citizens are heard at the local, state and federal levels. The group aims to hold elected officials accountable and advocate for “a government that truly reflects and serves the people of West Texas.”
