OBITUARY
Mary La Rue Brinegar, age 84, beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at the Robert Lee Care Center.
Mrs. Brinegar was born on March 13, 1941, in San Angelo, to Wilbur L. and Clara J. Northcross. Mary was raised in Miles. Mary gained her independence through attending business school and then working at San Angelo Abstract Office after graduating high school. This is where she met local appraiser and her first and only love, Carl Gordon Brinegar. They were married on September 10, 1966, in San Angelo.
Mary devoted herself to her family and working with Carl at Brinegar Appraisal Service. In 2004, Mary’s dream to return to quiet country life was fulfilled when they built a home in Carlsbad, where they resided during retirement.
Mary is survived by her beloved husband, Carl Brinegar; her daughter, Joy Brinegar of Colorado; her son, Brent Brinegar and wife Lisa of Nebraska; a sister, Janet La Verne Cunningham of Austin; several grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
Public Viewing will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, January 9, 2026, at Robert Massie Funeral Home. Graveside service will be at 1 p.m., Tuesday, November 10, 2026, at Fairmount Cemetery under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.
The family extends a special thanks to the Robert Lee Care Center for their special care of Mary and also her mother, Clara who was a resident at the time of her passing in 2006. Your love and care for Mary and Clara means more to our family than words can express.
