OBITUARY

Margaret Coe Ridgway passed on January 4. 2026 at Brayden Park Assisted Living in San Angelo. She was 100 years old.

Born February 18, 1925, in Haverford, PA to Frank C. Coe and Margaret Seippel Coe. She grew up in Philadelphia with her older sister Mary Caroline. She graduated from Mount Holyoke College and Married Thomas William Ridgway on February 1, 1947.

She and Tom moved to Texas after the birth of their daughter Susan, and worked for the Jax Cowden family in the operation of Cowden Gardens on the Old San Antonio Highway in San Angelo.

Tom and Maggie bought Cowden Gardens in the early 1950s and renamed it Concho Gardens. Not long after their purchase they moved to a new location at 20 South Irving, on the ground floor of The Saint Angelus Hotel. They renamed the business Tom Ridgway Florist and operated from that location for many years.

Maggie was a past member of the Junior League Garden Clubs, Saint Catherine’s Guild and Altar Guild at Emmanuel Episcopal Church.
