OBITUARY

Louise (Luisa) Dehlia Montes went to be with her Savior on January 27, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. Louise was born to the late Johnnie R. Perez and Liggie (Lugarda) Gabaldon on October 27, 1950 in Silver City, NM. Louise is survived by her children Raymundo Montes Jr (Kim) and Lisa Garza (Paul) both of El Paso, Texas, and her grandchildren Janean, Raymond Michael, Zachariah, and Grace and two great grandchildren, Noah and Alice; siblings, brother Ronald Perez and sister Vickie Ogas of Silver city, New Mexico, and sister Theresa Trujillo of Alamogordo, NM, as well as aunts and uncles and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Louise’s mother passed away when she was just 16 years old. Louise graduated from high school in Silver City, New Mexico, and moved on to New Mexico State University for college. She met and married her ex-husband Raymundo Montes and began traveling via Raymundo’s military duties. She would later finish college at Angelo State University, with a Bachelors in Psychology and a Masters in Clinical Psychology. Louise served her community for many years with Child Protective Services before retiring.

First and foremost, Louise loved her Lord Jesus. She spent her retirement years traveling when she could to El Paso and Silver City to see her family. Louise enjoyed spending time with her best friend Mary Foust and all of her family members. If she was unable to travel, she utilized long phone calls and FaceTiming with her grandchildren. She was an avid reader of Science Fiction and loved to binge watch her shows. She will be dearly missed.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to Community Partners of El Paso, Inc. This nonprofit organization works directly with Child Protective Services in El Paso to help families in crisis.
