It’s likely that next week’s slate of city meetings will be chock-full of public comment regarding the Skybox Data Center project, as well as future zoning changes that would open up more room for future centers, according to reports around town received by The Concho Observer.

On Monday, January 12, a regular meeting for the Zoning Board of Adjustment will be held at City Hall, beginning at 3 p.m. Public comment is allowed if you sign in before the meeting begins.

There are no updates related directly to the rezoning of any areas for “light manufacturing,” the classification used for data centers, listed on the agenda.

On Tuesday, January 13, City Council has a full plate, but most public comment will likely address the data centers and rezoning. One item on the agenda mentions this:

Webb, Stokes & Sparks Personal Injury Law

“Second reading and public hearing of ordinances for: Z25-24, a request to rezone from the Ranch & Estate zoning district to the Light Manufacturing zoning district”

How Do I Contribute To Public Comment?

To speak at next week’s council meeting, a resident must complete the appropriate form by 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 12, in order to speak the following morning. You can find the form here.

Residents may also submit their comments in written from via email to the planning director at: aaron.vannoy@sanangelo.gov, or to charlie.kemp@sanangelo.gov.

The City of San Angelo has created a page for frequently asked questions about the data center projects.

ADDITION: 8 Jan 2026, 1:03 p.m.
