OBITUARY

Linda DiAne (Hester) Spivey, affectionately known to her loved ones as Granny, was called home to her heavenly Father on the 4th of February, 2026, after a brave battle with complications due to COPD.

Born on September 14, 1946, in Roanoke, Alabama, DiAne’s journey led her to Tennyson, Texas, where she passed surrounded by the love of her family.

DiAne’s life was a testament to her unwavering faith and the love she shared with those around her.

Her husband of 54 years, Larry Spivey, stood by her side in Tennyson, cherishing every moment they had together since their marriage on March 2nd, 1971.

The legacy of their love is carried on through their children, Stefani Wright and husband TJ of Kingsland, Lexi Brooks of Leander, Michael Johnson and wife Virginia of Gorman, Rusty Johnson and wife Wendy of Kingsland, and Shelley Haines and husband Randy of Seguin. DiAne’s joy was multiplied with the birth of each of her eight grandchildren, Alexis, Losson, Jake, Andrea, Ashley, Reston, Riana, Rylan, and her eight great-grandchildren, all of whom will forever hold dear the love she so generously gave.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Pauline Hester, and brother “Pug” Hester.

A graduate of Coleman High School and a student at Angelo State University, DiAne’s pursuit of knowledge and personal growth was lifelong. Her professional journey led her to serve with compassion and dedication as the Assistant Administrator in the Nursing Home industry for over 25 years. Her commitment to care and excellence earned her the recognition of Employee of the Month, a title she humbly accepted with grace.

Beyond her professional achievements, DiAne was a proud member of the Order of the Eastern Star, where she found fellowship and purpose. Her faith in Christ was the cornerstone of her life, guiding her through every season with hope and peace.

DiAne’s interests painted a picture of a woman who found joy in life’s simple pleasures. An avid reader, she could often be found lost in the pages of a good book. Her passion for horse racing was matched only by the tranquility she found in watching her animals and soaking in the beauty of God’s creations. Yet, above all, the time she spent with her family and friends was most precious to her, as she believed that “The love of family is life’s greatest blessing.”

Described as loving, passionate, and thoughtful, DiAne’s impact on the world was profound, and her absence will be deeply felt. She lived by the simple words of “Love You Bunches,” a quote that beautifully captures the essence of her spirit.

DiAne is survived by her brother, James Hester, and several nieces and nephews, each of whom will carry forward the memory of her kindness and the warmth of her embrace. As we bid farewell to this remarkable woman, we take solace in the knowledge that her love lives on in the hearts of those she touched.

In her passing, DiAne leaves behind a legacy of love, a beacon of faith, and a life lived in full service to others. Her memory will be a blessing to all who knew her and an enduring inspiration to live each day with compassion and grace.

Celebration of Life will be February 21, 2026, 12:00pm at the Forgiven Ministry Church, 117 W. Main, Bronte, TX 76933

In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to Forgiven Ministries, PO Box 3653, San Angelo, TX 76901.
