OBITUARY

Laura Anne Freitag, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on October 9, 2025, in San Angelo, Texas, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Redding, California, Laura’s vibrant spirit and unwavering kindness left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her.

Laura spent her formative years in Redding, where she graduated from Central Valley High School. Post-graduation, she dedicated her professional life to bookkeeping, a career that spanned several decades in Anderson, California.

Her meticulous attention to detail and genuine warmth made her a beloved figure both in her professional circle and among her clients.

Later in life, Laura embraced the serenity of ranch life in Mertzon, where she moved with her devoted husband, Jack D. Freitag, to enjoy the beauty and tranquility of the countryside.

Laura’s life was a testament to her faith and the Christian values she held dear.

Her love for her family was paramount, and she took immense pride in her role as a wife to Jack and mother to her sons, Matthew, who is married to Ha, and Bryant, who is married to Angi.

Laura’s joy multiplied as she became a grandmother to Kaitlyn, Simon, and Nghi, cherishing every moment spent with them and instilling in them the same love and values she carried throughout her life.

Her siblings, Beth Raibley, with her husband Richard, and Larry Weaver, with his wife Sharon, shared many treasured memories with Laura, and her passing leaves a void that will be deeply felt by her family and the extended network of caring relatives who looked up to her.

Laura’s zest for life extended beyond her family and work. She was an active participant in bowling leagues, a pastime that brought her both joy and companionship. Her nurturing soul found solace in caring for bottle baby goats, and her adventurous spirit came alive while hunting and fishing with her husband. Laura’s dog, Lucy, was a constant source of happiness and a cherished companion on her life’s journey.

Described as loving, friendly, and handy, Laura’s ability to connect with people and lend a helping hand wherever needed made her a pillar in her community. Her laughter was infectious, her advice sought after, and her presence a comfort to all.

Laura’s life was a beautiful mosaic of love, perseverance, and service. As we mourn her passing, we also celebrate the legacy she leaves behind-a legacy of unwavering love, boundless friendship, and the resolute strength of a woman who faced life’s challenges with grace and dignity.

Laura Anne Freitag will be profoundly missed, but the memories she created will continue to inspire and guide us. As we bid her farewell, we find solace in knowing that her spirit will forever be a beacon of light in the lives of those she touched.
