OBITUARY
Janice Jane Foshee, matriarch of her family, was called to her eternal home on November 24, 2025, at the age of 85. Janice was born on March 6, 1940, in San Antonio, Texas, to Homer and Ruth Anderson. She passed away peacefully in Brownwood, Texas, surrounded by the love of her family, following complications of Alzheimer’s disease.
Janice, known affectionately as “granny” to her grandchildren and loved ones, was a source of strength to all who knew her. She was grounded in her Christian faith, which was the cornerstone of her existence.
Her unwavering belief in the Lord’s grace guided her through the trials and triumphs of life.
She grew up in the warm embrace of the Lone Star State, graduating from Uvalde High School, where she met the love of her life, William Harrell Foshee. Her professional journey as a school secretary was marked by an unwavering dedication to the students and staff she served. Janice’s commitment to her work was paralleled only by her devotion to her family.
Janice was the mother of son Kevin Foshee and his wife Dawna, and daughter Jana Thurman. Her grandchildren include Amanda Ellett and her husband Reed, Luke Thurman, Kyle Foshee and his wife Jazmin, and Kaleb Foshee. Her great-grandchildren, Adaline, Nova, and Rhett, were the jewels in her crown, each of them a blessing and a continuation of her legacy.
An avid gardener, Janice’s hands were often found in the soil, tending to her flowers and plants. Fishing was another of Janice’s joys, a pastime she approached with patience and an appreciation for God’s creation. Her hands, skilled in the art of crocheting, crafted warmth and beauty for those she loved. Janice’s quirky hobby of collecting unusual rocks reflected her appreciation for the unique and the beauty in the everyday.
Janice’s life was a beautiful patchwork of love, strength, and faith. Her impact on her family will continue to ripple through the generations, a testament to a life well-lived and a faith deeply held. As we mourn her passing, we also celebrate her homecoming with the Lord, and the reunion with her love, Harrell.
