OBITUARY
Francis Gerald Brashear entered the presence of his Lord and Savior on Monday, January 12, 2026, at the age of 95.
Francis was born to Theo and Fannie Brashear on April 5, 1930, in San Angelo.
Francis worked at a Five-and-Dime store as a teen, where he met the most beautiful woman he had ever seen behind the candy counter. He went on to marry that wonderful woman, Juanice (Graves) Brashear on October 16, 1948. They celebrated 56 amazing years before her passing.
Francis joined the U.S. Army that same year and served in the Korean War. He then worked as a Postman with the United States Postal Service for over 42 years.
Francis was a faithful servant to his Savior, being active at Harris Avenue Baptist Church for over 70 years. Francis also was a Mason for 65 years at the Concho Lodge 1260. Additionally, he was Worshipful Master of Lodge 1260 in 1977, and served as the secretary for 11 years.
Francis is proceeded in death by his parents, his wife Juanice, sisters June Brashear and Pat Weber-Gill, and daughter Carole Madigan. He is survived by daughter Linda Martinez, three granddaughters, Erica Manley (Josh), Bridget Martinez, and Candice Martinez, and eight great grandchildren, Jayden, Logan, Averie, Claire, Madison, Seth, Robert, and Cambren.
A celebration of life is planned for Monday, January 19, at 10 a.m., at Harris Avenue Baptist Church with Pastor Jim Wilkerson officiating, followed by a graveside service with Military and Masonic Honors at Lawnhaven Cemetery in San Angelo.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for you to make donations to Bronte Health & Rehab or Harris Avenue Baptist Church.
The family would like to thank Bronte Health and Rehab, the congregation of Harris Ave Baptist Church, and the staff of West Texas Rehab Hospice for their care of Francis during his final days.
