OBITUARY

Delia S. Guerra (Dee), beloved and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, entered the heavenly gates at the age of 75, Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2026, surrounded by family by her loved ones at her bedside. Born Jan. 18, 1951, to Fred and Esther Salinas in Corpus Christi.

On Dec. 4, 1971, she married Manuel Guerra of Corpus Christi. They began dating after meeting at Whataburger. When Manuel joined the Air Force, they moved to Laurel, Maryland. After a couple of years, they moved to Bellevue, Neb. After 10 years, they moved to San Angelo, where they lived for the remainder of Delia’s life.

Always wanting to help people, Delia worked as a home health aide, a teacher’s aide at Rio Vista, HOSA, and Building Bridges volunteer, and Healthy Families of San Angelo, rounding out her work career. When she retired, she focused on her husband, children, and grandchildren. She was also a devoted parishioner at Our Lady of Peace Chapel at GAFB.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Esther Salinas; her sister, Gloria Salinas; her niece, Annette Salinas; and her brother, Carlos Rolando Salinas.

She is survived by her husband, Manuel Guerra; daughter Margaret and husband P.R. Sevier; son Israel and wife Lori Guerra; son Alex and wife Holly Guerra; grandchildren Israel Guerra Jr. and significant other Shelby Sutton, Isaac Guerra and wife Faith Guerra, Isis Guerra and significant other Jr. Andrade, Mykel Sevier, Gabi Sevier and significant other Johnny Jimenez, Daniel Guerra, Ariella Guerra, Micah Guerra, Andrew Vickers and future great-grandson Ivar Guerra. She is also survived by her aunt/second mom, Mrs. Beatrice DeLeon of Corpus Christi, and her fur baby, Krystal Belle Guerra. Also, her honorary granddaughter, Brie Ramos.

Delia was a room mother for all three of her children, a devoted soccer mom, and a grandma. She was always supportive of her grandchildren’s activities. She was a cherished member of the community, and she took pride in helping teenage mothers build an understanding of what it took to be a great mom, as she was a great mother herself.

We would like to thank Dr. Goen, Shannon Clinic Nephrology and Cardiology, Shannon 5 North, Shannon respiratory therapists, and Hospice of San Angelo for all of the excellent care and compassion.

A Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30, in Johnson’s Funeral Home chapel. Private family service will be held at a later date in Corpus Christi.
