San Angelo State Rep. Drew Darby announced his campaign for re-election to the Texas House late Wednesday, with the endorsement of Pres. Donald Trump, Gov. Greg Abbott, House Speaker Dustin Burrows and U.S. Rep. August Pfluger.
“Serving the families of West Texas and the Concho Valley has been one of the greatest honors of my life,” Darby said in the news bulletin, “Over the years, we have worked side-by-side to deliver real results to defend our rural values. I am proud of what we have accomplished together, but I know there is still more work ahead. That is why I am running for re-election, to ensure our district continues to have a strong, experienced, and productive voice at the Capitol.”
Darby has represented District 72 in the Texas House since 2007.

Not a big fan of Drew’s. In 2017 the State Legislature was considering the bill that denied State business to any entity that boycotted Israel. I wrote to Drew, my Rep, and to Perry, my Senator, pointing out the fact that the legislation was a direct violation of the portion of the First Amendment that guarantees freedom of speech. I received a response from neither. The legislation passed both chambers unanimously.
Drew Darby is a RHINO who is a Good ole Boy that is in the pocket of those who run San Angelo in the background. He managed to follow the money and make Shannon the only game in town.Supports the SAISD low ratings and high salaries for the Adims. Does nothing to lower taxes and the list goes on , while Drew expounds on what a great job he is doing ………….
