THE SAN ANGELO SCENE
Great Weekend For Beginners: The Garden Lounge will host its monthly open mic night this Friday. A great opportunity to get some stage time for those who’ve been busy practicing in their bedrooms. Nothing beats the real thing.
“First Saturday” at The Chicken Farm Art Center features local art markets, but there’s usually a pickers circle. Speaking from personal experience, it’s one of the best places for budding musicians of all ages and experience to learn some new tunes and show off their skills.
Gus Clark and the Least Of His Problems: The band continues their Texas tour at Fifi’s this Saturday. Led by accomplished guitarist and accordion aficionado, the ACL-fest alumni’s sound is defined by classic 50’s and 60’s honky tonk, tejano, and old school blues.
Shirley Carter’s Royal Women of Country: Listen to songs made famous by Patsy Cline, Tammy Wynette, Linda Ronstadt, Dolly Parton, and Loretta Lynn. Carter brings the voices of five of the greatest ladies of all time into the present day in her Country Tribute Show.
