The City of San Angelo has issued the following update on disaster recovery and assistance for the week of July 14.

Disaster Resource Center

The Disaster Resource Center (DRC) will be located at the Concho Valley Transit Annex, 510 N Chadbourne St., from noon to 6 p.m. Monday-Friday. Community agencies will be available on site for intake and assistance. To protect the privacy of those utilizing the DRC, members of the media will not be permitted inside.

Food, hygiene items and clothing resources will be located at Rust Street Ministries, 803 Rust St., from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday-Friday.

The United Way of the Concho Valley will provide updates on volunteer opportunities and donations as they become available.

Disaster Assistance

If you’ve been affected by the July 4 floods, you may qualify for federal aid. To apply for disaster assistance, visit fema.gov/assistance/individual or call 800-621-3362.

Other damage assessment forms do not take the place of this application. We recommend citizens continue filling out iSTAT damage assessment forms for local resources to reference during recovery efforts.

Cleanup Assistance

If you need cleanup assistance, mold remediation or debris sorting on your property, please fill out this form. We are working with multiple organizations to provide these services free of charge as quickly as possible. This is in addition to and does not take the place of iStat forms.

Contractors

Contractor requirements under City of San Angelo ordinance states that any person providing work that requires a permit must be registered with the building official. This protects our citizens from scams and helps document who is in the community.

Those wanting to assist with disaster cleanup efforts within homes, businesses and yards should register with the City of San Angelo at 52 W. College Ave. or email the registration form to the permit division.

Business Assistance

Those located in Tom Green County may be eligible for financial assistance from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). On a local level, please contact the Angelo State University Small Business Development Center at 325-942-2098 or email sbdc@angelo.edu.

Types of Disaster Loans

  • Business Physical Disaster Loans – Loans to businesses to repair or replace disaster-damaged property owned by the business, including real estate, inventories, supplies, machinery and equipment. Businesses of any size are eligible. Private, nonprofit organizations such as charities, churches, private universities, etc., are also eligible.
  • Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDL) – Working capital loans to help small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, small businesses engaged in aquaculture, and most private, nonprofit organizations of all sizes meet their ordinary and necessary financial obligations that cannot be met as a direct result of the disaster. These loans are intended to assist through the disaster recovery period.
  • Home Disaster Loans – Loans to homeowners or renters to repair or replace disaster-damaged real estate and personal property, including automobiles.
