City Council’s bi-weekly meeting on Tuesday January 21st at the McNease Convention Center, will mark the first meeting since council member Tom Thompson joined the mayoral race.
On the regular agenda for the meeting are multiple presentations by Parks and Recreation Director Carl White, Real Estate Manager Sarah Torres, Operations Director Patrick Frerich, and Planning and Development Services Director Aaron Vannoy, respectively.
Several items on the consent agenda involve San Angelo’s Fire and Police Department. These include approval of a three year contract with On Duty Health for annual firefighter health and fitness assessments, authorizing the San Angelo Fire Department to apply for the State Homeland Security Grant Program, and approve SAPD accepting the donation of equipment from MHMR. The last item of note on the consent agenda is the consideration of approving policies recommended by the Public Art Commission for both artwork donation and loan policy application, and deaccessioning policy.
On the regular agenda, the City will consider:
- Purchase of 805 W Ave N from CVI Group, LLC & Steelcity Investment LLC
- Entering into an interlocal agreement with Tom Green County
- Amending the fiscal year 2024-25 budget for related reimbursed expenses,
- Awarding the Annual Sealcoat Project to Clark Construction of Texas, Inc.
- Dscussion and direction from the council regarding the Downtown San Angelo banner campaign.
- Appeal of denial of demolition of a structure at 231 W Beauregard,.
