Our vision for The Concho Observer is a community publication. That is one written by and for the local community about things that matter to the community.

Part of that is making the platform available for others to communicate their for local business, clubs and other organizations.

Quality Content Requires Sustainable Revenue Stream

Starting May 1, we will begin publishing local ads on The Concho Observer. This is part of our effort to build a sustainable source of revenue to publish quality local news long term.

We have two sources of revenue.

Postal Annex Ad

The first is voluntary contributions from individuals.

We do not require a subscription to access our content, but we ask for the community to support us with a voluntary contribution of $10 or more per month to help with the costs of our website, writers, graphic design etc. You can contribute here.

The second piece is local advertising or messaging.

It is important that a community have a source for information about local government and local news. It is just as important that a community have a way to learn about the businesses and organizations that provide needed services and products in that community.

Advertising will be limited to businesses located and doing business in San Angelo and the Concho Valley. We will stay away from national advertisers, pop-ups and other annoying forms of advertising.

Part of being a community publication is being an affordable platform the community and business can use to get their message out to the larger community in a safe and family friendly publication. That is what we intend to be.
