OBITUARY
Bobby Brown, a cherished soul whose life was marked by love, intelligence, and friendliness, departed from this world on October 23, 2025, at the age of 95.
Born on February 28, 1930, in the small town of San Saba, Texas, to Leonard Lafayette Brown and Ora Azalea Smith Brown, Bobby’s early years were filled with the warmth of a close-knit family and the vibrant spirit of his community.
He graduated from San Saba High School in 1947 and continued his education at the University of Texas before earning his degree from Southwest Texas State Teachers College in San Marcos, Texas, in 1952.
It was during these formative years that Bobby developed a passion for learning and a dedication to service, traits that would define him throughout his life.
Bobby served proudly in the United States Naval Reserve from 1952 to 1964, a period during which he cultivated a sense of discipline and camaraderie that remained with him long after his service.
His professional career was equally distinguished, spanning four decades with the Commercial Credit Company and Commercial Credit Bank, where his intelligence and friendly demeanor made him a beloved figure among colleagues and clients alike.
In the realm of love and partnership, Bobby was blessed with a beautiful family. His devoted wife, Rosie Baker Brown, was his lifelong companion, and together they raised two sons, Rodney Brown and his wife Diana McKenzie Brown of San Angelo, and Ronny Brown and his wife Huu Minh Tam Do Brown of San Angelo.
The family joyfully anticipated the arrival of Bobby’s soon-to-be granddaughter, Marjorie Ann, of San Angelo. His grandson, Austin Brown, was a source of immense pride and joy.
Bobby’s Christian faith was a guiding light throughout his life, providing him with strength and solace. He lived his beliefs through acts of kindness and an unwavering commitment to his family and friends. His love for his community was evident in the way he engaged with those around him, always ready with a warm smile and a helping hand.
An avid sports fan, Bobby cherished watching the University of Texas play on Saturdays, and the Dallas Cowboys on Sundays. These moments of leisure were not just pastimes but represented his appreciation for teamwork, perseverance, and the joy of competition.
Above all, Bobby Brown will be remembered for the love he showered upon his friends and family, the intelligence with which he approached every challenge, and the friendly grace that made him a beacon of light in the lives of all who knew him.
His legacy is one of enduring love and the profound impact he had on his community.
As we bid farewell to Bobby, we celebrate a life well-lived and the countless memories he leaves behind. His spirit will continue to inspire and guide us, just as the Texas stars he so loved will continue to shine bright in the vast night sky.
A graveside service is planned for 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 3, at the Robert Lee Cemetery, 502 Overland Trail.
