On Sept. 19, Bin Deals officially said hello to San Angelo with a grand opening at 2581 Sunset Drive, as the liquidation store exploded onto the shopping scene, complete with overflowing bins and all.
I stopped by during the grand opening to see what all the buzz was about. It was my first time shopping at a place like Bin Deals, where oversized bins line the floors, stuffed with boxed overstock items and unclaimed packages. Kitchenware, clothing, kids’ toys, tech gadgets – you name it.

Curious San Angelites rummaged alongside me, some casually and others who seemed like they were on a mission to find the perfect thing. The children especially seemed to enjoy the experience. (Of course they did – kids love touching things.)
Pro tip: Bring hand sanitizer.
The layout isn’t the only unique thing about Bin Deals. The store’s strategic pricing system adds to the thrill of the shop. On Mondays, everything is $15.

Tuesdays, it drops to $7. And prices get lower as the week goes on. The store closes one day a week to restock, which resets the pricing cycle – a clever way to keep people coming back.
“If you find something you like, but you don’t think it’s worth $15, come back another day this week – it might still be here, but cheaper,” a staff member told a customer, who was eyeing a corgi-shaped headphone stand.

The items you’ll find aren’t guaranteed to be anything to write home about, but the experience is. It’s a little chaotic and a bit overstimulating, but I could see it making a fun trip for a family after school or maybe a quirky date night – who can find the best item for $1?

Overall, the store is okay, but the experience makes it worth the trip. San Angelo could use more budget-friendly, novelty shops like this. And the location is convenient, too. You could wing by while waiting for your dry cleaning, after grabbing breakfast, or between errands.
