ASU Game Day Features Tailgate Party and Free Concert

Angelo State University is inviting the community to take part in the first ASU Game Day of the fall on Saturday, Sept. 6, including a Ram Jam tailgate party with a free concert, the home opener for the Rams football team and home matches for the Rambelles soccer and volleyball teams.

Game day activities include:

  • 11 a.m.: Volleyball – Rambelles vs. Southern Nazarene, Junell Center/Stephens Arena
  • 1 p.m.: Soccer – Rambelles vs. Oklahoma Baptist, LeGrand Soccer Complex
  • 3-5 p.m. – Ram Jam, LeGrand Alumni and Visitors Center
  • During Ram Jam – Free Concert by local rock band Gage and the Grease Monkeys
  • 6 p.m.: Football – ASU Rams vs. Emporia State, LeGrand Stadium at 1st Community Credit Union Field
  • 7:30 p.m.: Volleyball – Rambelles vs. Colorado Mesa, Junell Center/Stephens Arena

The Rams football game will be a “Blue Out,” so all fans are encouraged to wear ASU blue. The Belles volleyball matches are part of the season-opening Kathleen Brasfield Invitational.

Ram Jam and the included concert are free and open to the public. Other activities include performances by the ASU Ram Band and Cheer Team, free food and giveaways. Anyone 21 and over wishing to consume alcohol will need to get a free wristband from the wristband stations at Ram Jam. Each individual must present a valid government-issued photo ID to receive a wristband.

Fans are also encouraged to remember the Clear Bag Policy for ASU athletics events, and fans who can’t make it to the games can still follow all the live action on the FloSports digital streaming service.

More details on the football game and the soccer and volleyball matches, including general public ticket prices, are available at angelosports.com.
