The ASU Rodeo Team will host its inaugural National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association (NIRA) event, the ASU College Rodeo, Thursday through Saturday, Oct. 23-25, at the outdoor Fiesta Arena at the San Angelo Fairgrounds.

Hosted in conjunction with the annual Cinch Roping Fiesta, the ASU College Rodeo schedule includes three main performances and a morning Slack:

  • Thursday, Oct. 23 – Rodeo Performance at 6 p.m.
  • Friday, Oct. 24 – Slack at 8:30 a.m.
  • Friday, Oct. 24 – Rodeo Per formance at 6 p.m.
  • Saturday, Oct. 25 – Short Round Finals at 6 p.m.

“Angelo State University continues to grow and is excited to host its inaugural college rodeo alongside the historic Cinch Roping Fiesta,” said Casey Sisk, ASU rodeo coach.

“As we partner with the San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo, it provides the opportunity for all the college contestants to compete on a bigger stage. This was an opportunity we couldn’t pass up as the NIRA Lone Star Region launches this year.”
