OBITUARY

Andrea J. Smith Shew of San Angelo, died November 28, 2025, at the age of 83.

Andrea J. Smith Shew was born April 23, 1942, to E.E. (Smitty) and Mary Smith in Levelland, TX, and died November 28, 2025, at her home in San Angelo.

She is survived by daughters from her first marriage with Gene Schoenrock, D’Aun Butler (Ray) of San Angelo, TX, Genette Moore (Thom) of Clovis, NM, Adrianne Jensen (Barry) of Broken Arrow, OK. Eight grandchildren; Dillon Butler (Megan), Brittany Webster (Jacob), Dahlia Davis (Travis), Christian Moore, Marshall Moore (Chantel), Ben Jensen, Ray Jensen, and Elliot Jensen (Dajah). Two great-grandchildren; Grayson and Nathaniel Webster. She is also survived by her bonus children: Elizabeth Shew, Starla York (Tim), Will Shew and Toby Shew (Sarah), and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a granddaughter, Alesa Nicole Goods.

Andrea married the love of her life, Stuart Shew, on February 27, 1990, in Colorado. They shared many adventures traveling across the US and overseas. They lived in Lubbock, TX, Las Vegas, NV, and finally settled in San Angelo to be closer to her family.

Andrea attended Jessie Lee’s Cosmetology School in Lubbock, TX where she obtained her hairdresser license. In addition to doing hair, she was a receptionist at the YMCA of Lubbock and worked in sales. In her spare time, Andrea enjoyed her time teaching Sunday school and coaching Little Dribblers girls’ basketball. She was a homemaker extraordinaire, using her keen eye for decorating, floral design, landscaping, taxidermy, and hosting family gatherings with undeniable style.

Andrea never met a stranger. She was always willing to share her opinions or knowledge on a variety of subjects. Her sharp sense of humor would have you laughing until you cried. She loved deeply and always enjoyed having family around. She will be greatly missed. A celebration of her life has been scheduled for April 11, 2026 in San Angelo, TX. .
