Agenda For Council Includes Audit Report, Tax Abatements

San Angelo City Council’s regular meeting will take place Tuesday March 18, 2025, 8:30 a.m. at the McNease Convention Center South Meeting Room 501 Rio Concho Drive San Angelo, Texas. The agenda for council includes:

  • Receipt and approval of the fiscal year 2024 financial audit report.
  • Enterinto a three year tax abatement agreement with Zeppelin Energy Storage LLC .
  • Approving North TIRZ incentives in the total of $345,135.99.
  • Approving South TIRZ incentives in the total of $184,356.12.
  • Consider zone change for 4673 Christoval Road from Heavy Commercial to Mobile Home zoning district.
  • Consider zone change for 502 and 504 W. Ave. V from Single Family Residential to Neighborhood Commercial zoning district.

Executive/Closed Session

The Council will hold an executive (closed) session to deliberate on fiver real property matters. These are:

  • Consultation with an attorney regarding property tax assessment on City-owned leased land.
  • Deliberations about real property regarding City-owned leased land at 6859 Golden Ln.
  • Deliberations regarding 2.524 acres out of lots 18 & 19, Fort Concho River Lots
  • Deliberations about real property regarding:
    • Approximately 200.11 acres out of Survey 20, W.C. Ry. Co., Abstract 8138;
    • Approximately 143.78 acres out of Survey 19, W.C. Ry. Co., Abstract 4018; and Approximately 8.39 acres out of Survey 4 ½, J.W. Johnson, Abstract 8647;
    • Approximately 316 acres out of Sarah R. Robertson Survey No. 178, Abstract 8474

Consent Agenda

The Council has a long list of consent agenda items, a couple of which have already been before the council once. Consent Agenda items are those considered routine or that do not need much discussion or consideration and are usually approved in one vote rather than considering each item individually, as is done for the regular agenda. Items of interest on this week’s consent agenda include:

  • Allowing food truck vendors at the San Angelo Airport.
  • Rescheduling a joint meeting with the Planning Commission to just creation of a cultural overlay district.
  • Authorizing an emergency contract to repair traffic light at Beauregard and S. Abe
