San Angelo area readers have noticed there’s a new voice for engaging local news.

The Concho Observer is approaching the end of its first year in publication. As you know, we are dedicated to building a quality local newsroom that brings you information about your community no one else is covering.

Primarily, our support up to this point has been through donations. But we envision something much greater than a donation-only website can sustain.

We believe that local businesses and organizations need a place where they know local people are going, and reading about what’s happening in their community. A community needs at least one place where everyone knows their news and message will be seen by the community.

Postal Annex Ad

Over the last few months, we have begun changing into a website that not only tells you what’s going on in the community, but a place where businesses, non-profits, organizations, churches, candidates and clubs can share their message with local readers — and readers connected with San Angelo.

Advertise Where Trust Lives

Your advertising dollars are a precious resource we do not take lightly. We ask that you consider supporting local journalism backed by a sincere desire to give back to Concho Valley readers.

In today’s crowded media landscape, anyone can launch a website and call it “news.” What’s far harder to find—and far more valuable—is journalism that readers can genuinely trust.

The Concho Observer was created to fill that gap.

Founded by community-minded attorney and civic leader Jon Mark Hogg, The Concho Observer is built on a simple but powerful principle: present the facts fairly, ask the right questions, and let readers decide for themselves. The result is a publication that values accuracy over outrage and substance over sensationalism.

Jon Mark assembled a team of trained, experienced journalists, including alumni from the old Standard Times, who are committed to professional, balanced reporting. Every story is approached with care, context, and respect for the community it serves. While perspectives may differ, the mission remains constant: mine the facts, seek transparency, and report responsibly.

Why This Matters to Advertisers

When you advertise with The Concho Observer, your message appears alongside content that readers choose to engage with—not scroll past.

The Concho Observer’s audience is:

  • Deeply invested in the Concho Valley and surrounding communities
  • Interested in local and regional leadership, education, business, and civic life
  • Seeking credible information they can rely on
  • Loyal to a publication they trust and return to regularly

These are readers who care about where they live and who they do business with. Your advertisement reaches people who are paying attention—people who value credibility, integrity, and community involvement. In other words, the same values that successful local businesses are built on.

Advertising with The Concho Observer connects your brand to a trusted local voice and places your business in front of engaged, thoughtful readers who support organizations that benefit their community.

We hope you will consider being a sponsor, and let us help you share your message with the San Angelo community.
